Allium     Fritillaria (Crown Imperial)

Allium  Not attractive to deer and squirrels. The seed heads of the taller varieties dry well for dramatic flower arrangements if picked slightly unripe. the flowers can also be dyed or sprayed. Prefer a sunny location with well drained soil.

Fritillaria  These bulbs are deer and rodent resistant and repellant. Very stunning. Prefer a well drained and organic soil. Planting the bulbs sideways prevents them from rotting in fall. The bulbs and flowers have a musky smell, and anytime you touch a flower it develops a tear. The oldest of the cultivated bulbs.
