It's hard to imagine a world without potatoes. They have to be one of the most recognized foods on the planet, and the vegetable that is the most universally liked. Potatoes may be a storehouse of vitamins and minerals, but no one seems to pay attention to that when they come in so many fun colors and can be prepared in so many different ways. Potatoes were the first food to be grown in outer space. Astronauts took potato plants on the space shuttle Columbia in 1995 to see if they could grow in zero gravity. Thankfully, for all of us who love potatoes, the experiment was a success.
5 lb. of potatoes will yield approximately 50 lb. of potatoes. 10 lb. of potatoes are needed for a 100 foot row, 600 lb. per acre.
