Watermelon

Watermelons are 90% water, so it is odd that they originated from the Kalahari Desert in Africa. Watermelons were placed in the Pharohs tombs for nourishment in the afterlife, but it's Americans that consume more watermelons than any other country now. The heaviest watermelon on record weighed in at 350.5 lb., grown by Chris Kent in Tennessee, USA.

Approximately 3,600 seeds per lb. 1 oz. is needed for a 100 foot row, 3 lb. per acre.
